I habe 2 children and they have been going to her for years. I chose Dr Maria because she actually does blood work on children. The other Dr in town does not. Every time I have an appointment I have to wait at least a half hour in the waiting room and 40-80 minutes in the room. I see people walk in after me and be called back before me. I have a job and have to leave to take kids to Dr and when I come back 2 hours later I always get into trouble. One time I got suspended because of it. I love Dr. Maria because she is good with the kids and they like her but it is so hard to take a one year old to sit in a small room and be content for an hour. I take snacks, toys and books and my son still ends up crying because it's such a wait. I am considering the other Dr in town now. It just hard because driving 20-30 miles to another Dr isn't going to save time. Just know you need to have at least a 2 to 3 hour block of time for a well check
This doctor is absolutely amazing. A lot of people don't understand the patience it takes to be a doctor. The confusion that the appointments take forever is absolutely correct but she takes her time with patients. I've been with this practice for over 6 years and she is one of if not the best pediatrician in the lake area. She is very popular and a very busy woman who also has children at home. Her dedication to my children and my son especially who has many issues.. it almost makes me cry to explain our families love for her. The staff is good I do not like the in and out of nurses. We got close to many of them and they disappear and it gets tough to get my kids used to the new ones. Doctor Maria is amazing her herself. Unless you get to know her on another level it may seem she is scatter brained which she is not... She is the best and I will never find anyone like her.
EDIT: Found out there were basically double booking everyone they could. Your time really isn't important they just want as many patients.
YOUR TIME IS NOT IMPORTANT TO THEM. Horrible service. One day they called me to come in at 3 (because they wanted to leave early) when my son's appointment was at 4. Got there at 2:55 waited until 5:40 while they proceeded to take everyone that came thru the door. Today my son had an appointment at 9 am my wife got there on time, they didn't check her in, once again, they took people that had just randomly walked in before her without an appointment. If you want a really nice Doctor Maria is that, however her ability to meet a dead line is subpar, expect to wait and then wait some more. Her staff acts like your time is worth nothing to them and they get excited telling you to wait patiently. I've never seen a so highly lauded Doctor be so clueless as to what goes on outside in the waiting room. She does take her time with her patients but wasting your day in their waiting room when you have children that are tired and hungry isn't fun. Wouldn't recommend to anyone ever.
My son sees Dr. Maria and I see her husband, I absolutely love this office. I drive about 40 minutes to go here and it is so worth it. I can always get an appointment when I need to and never have to wait long to be seen. The Doctors Bernabe are very kind and compassionate and treat you like you're just as important as anyone else. I highly recommend them both.
Mr. Bernabe seems to not have his patients health records correct. Medicine is either called in some place you never use . Or hes confused about who you are and has the wrong records when talking to you .. The practice doesnt seem professional when comes to patients....
