Family fun tour! Very educational and entertaining. Local cave history makes this tour especially interesting. Charlie, our tour guide was friendly, accommodating and brought a humorous flare that made the whole family laugh. Two rare kinds of cave fossil also made this a stand out site to visit.
It is a new "must see" of Lake of the Ozarks!
It is a good cave for people who can't trek lots of stairs. Although there are some stairs, it wasn't arduous.
We were met by our tour guide Ross, who gave us a hour long tour of the cave. We were amazed how much knowledge Ross had about the cave, and enjoyed his humor and entertaining interaction.
The trail inside the cave was well lit. As you enter the cave, and periodically throughout the cave, the path is a boardwalk suspended over water. We were surprised how far it went back.
We’ve been to many, many caves in 40+ years of marriage, but this cave is right near the top! Visitors can walk ¾ mile on well-lighted paths to see the wonders of this cave. New owners have chosen the beautiful and historical approach, and it works. Our guide Charlie (former English and Humanities professor) was outstanding! He provides just the right amount of detail, showing off the formations, and some history along the way. An activity and learning center building is under construction near the mouth of the cave. Don’t miss this cave tour!
My husband and I love visiting the Ozarks. We've just discovered a new gem: Stark Caverns is a great addition to local attractions.
Our group had such a great time during the tour! The temperature was 21 outside and it was nice and comfortable inside the cave. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience very memorable for us. We're looking forward to coming back again in the Spring/Summer to experience what the cave is like in the warm season. This is a great family-friendly outing that I highly recommend!
Loved it. Charlie gave my boyfriend and I a tour of the caverns. Our tour guide was full of knowledge and made it a wonderful experience. Tip: Bring a penny to throw in the “wishing well.” I wished for a job offer from a recent interview and I received the job after I left the tour! But I was penny-less so Charlie gave me a penny. His pennies may be luckier than most... So maybe ask Charlie for a penny! It was a great experience and I plan on bringing my family for a tour.
